The Office of Institutional Research, Planning, and Effectiveness provides guidance and support for outcomes assessment at the University. This involves (1) coordinating and supervising the assessment reporting process, (2) providing assessment consultations with faculty members and administrators, (3) collaborating with committees to implement assessment policies and projects, and (4) developing compliance reports for accreditation purposes.
Each academic program and administrative unit is required to “identify expected outcomes, assess the extent to which it achieves these outcomes, and provide evidence of improvement based on analysis of the results” (SACS/COC Principle 3.3.1.). This evidence is documented in annual assessment reports that are submitted by each academic program and administrative unit to the Office of Institutional Research, Planning, and Effectiveness.
This website is designed to provide faculty and administrators with the specific information they need in order to complete outcomes assessment reports for Emory University. It also is designed to serve as a general clearinghouse for assessment information, with links to higher education assessment organizations as well as to many different college and university websites.
